2018 What Can I Say!
In January we then gave a cheque to Weston Hospicecare for £4,512.
Made up from £2700 proceeds from the show plus £1800 from my main sponsor Kingsdale and my 11 wonderful co-sponsors. I can not Thank them enough, it is a big slice towards the £4,512 raised.
Then out of the blue I have been awarded a Weston-super-Mare Mayors Award for running Weston Train Shows, raising money for the Hospice and Castle Kids Club based at the Campus. Putting Weston on the map by bringing visitors in from far afield. At this stage we hope (Health permitting) to do another 6 shows with the target of £70,000 in mind. I will of course be 80 at this stage. He's hoping. See you Sunday 13th January when I will have another 25+ layouts for your enjoyment.
Then out of the blue I was 1 of 6 given a community champion award via the Weston Mercury and presented for my charity work by John Penrose MP for North Somerset.
